​In Spring 2024, Aminat stepped in to support a family member and a friend, both high school seniors, after they received unexpected grades in a Dual Credit course. Without clear guidance, they had accepted grades that could negatively affect their college transcripts and future opportunities.

What started as an effort to advocate for two students grew into something larger. Through months of research, outreach, and persistence, their grades were successfully removed, and meaningful policy changes were implemented at the district level, improving transparency and support for other students facing similar challenges.

This experience became the foundation for Beneath and Beyond (501(c)(3)). We were created to ensure that first-generation, low-income, and underserved students don’t have to navigate these systems alone. Our work now spans mentorship, early intervention, and advocacy built on the belief that every student deserves informed, equitable opportunities to thrive.
